NSUBA hosts RiverHawk Run to benefit student scholarships – Sept. 20
(Broken Arrow, Oklahoma)--Northeastern State University’s Broken Arrow campus is getting to the spirit of homecoming with its inaugural NSUBA RiverHawk Run on Sept. 20. The event will include a 5k race and one-mile fun run. This year’s race theme is “The Yellow Brick Run” to follow along with the homecoming theme of “There’s no place like HOMEcoming.”
In addition to promoting a fit campus, NSUBA hopes to start a tradition that will help students on the Broken Arrow campus for years to come.
“All of the net proceeds from the RiverHawk Run will go to support NSU Broken Arrow scholarships through the NSU Foundation,” Jessica Roberts, coordinator of Community Engagement, said.
All finishers will receive a race shirt and medal with overall and age group winners also receiving a medal.
“The Race course is on the beautiful NSUBA campus and there will be food trucks and activities for children, so bring the whole family,” Monique Brinker, NSU Writing Lab Coordinator, said.
Check in starts at 5 p.m. at the NSUBA Clock tower courtyard, with the one-mile fun run starting at 5:30 p.m. and the 5k race starting at 6 p.m. Registration for the run is $25 until Sept. 6 when it will raise to $35, donations are also being accepted and will go towards NSUBA scholarships.
